Ami Chai: A Zionist Jewish Youth Movement

Four thousand years of Jewish history have left their mark on the entire world. In recent times, the nation of Israel has renewed its political and cultural independence. This revolution was accomplished by those who chose to tie their fates to that of the nation and who dedicated their talents and personalities to realizing this enterprise. This spirit, which helped build the State of Israel, draws its life force from the national heritage of generations of Jews.

Today, when the existence of the State and its strength are perceived as givens, signs of a crisis can be perceived in recent changes. We are witness to a weakening of national fortitude and the ability of the nation of Israel to hold fast to its land, materialistic achievements have grown in importance, and people feel a lack of shared goals, a diminishing of mutual responsibility even in times of security crises and a diffusion of ideas.

Ami Chai believes:

  • A new national Zionist leadership needs to be created
  • The nation of Israel is renewing its political and cultural independence
  • Israel draws its life force from the Jewish national heritage
  • The land of Israel in its biblical borders is the land promised to us, belonging only to us
  • All past and future generations of Israel have a stake in the state

The staff and members of Ami Chai will become leaders – first in their communities and then, nationally under the leadership of Member of Knesset, Brigadier General (res.) Arieh Eldad

Ami Chai is a national leadership training program:

  • Ami Chai is preparing a new generation of Israeli leaders, untainted by the political and social conflicts of the past, unburdened by the disaffection of lack of goals of so many of today’s Israeli leaders.
  • Meetings with key figures in Israeli society (social, military and political)
  • Education in the History and merits of Zionism and the importance of a Jewish state for the Jewish people.
  • Hikes and activities in all parts of the land, to foster love for Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and other regions
  • Volunteering, communal activism and nationwide social projects
  • Special attention to the needs of the uprooted residents of Gush Katif
  • Training in media relations
  • Seminars on the right of the nation of Israel to the Land of Israel
  • Focus on innovative solutions to the Arab-Jewish conflict

Ami Chai is a youth movement leading the way to the realization of the right of the nation of Israel to the Land of Israel and creating an exemplary society and functioning state.  The staff and members of Ami Chai will become leaders in their communities and in all of Israeli society.
